AT&T WNBA All-Star Weekend is usually a time for celebration, a little breather from the grind of the season, a chance for the league’s best to shine in contests, meet fans and soak in the good vibes.

But this year, the event has taken a hit with news that Caitlin Clark won’t be suiting up for the big weekend. Due to a groin injury, the Fever star will be sidelined from both the All-Star Game and the 3-Point Contest. As fans and fellow players rally behind her, one message in particular stood out from legend Nancy Lieberman.

Lieberman took to X to share a message to Clark who she has been a staunch supporter of for a long time.

“Thank you for everything you have done for the game. You’re epic as a basketball player but we are praying that you will heal quickly. You changed the game, so many people love you.” Lieberman said.

A two-time Olympian, Lieberman snagged a silver medal with Team USA at just 18 and was one of the youngest players ever to make the national team.

She dominated in college at Old Dominion, winning two national championships and earning the nickname “Lady Magic” for her flashy, playmaking style.

As for Clark, there is no timeline released for her recovery. However, so far the reports that have emerged suggest that it is nothing but a minor niggle and she will be back on court in the blink of an eye.

The KIA WNBA Skills Challenge and the WNBA Starry 3-Point Contest will be held Friday, July 18 at 8 p.m. ET with the All-Star game will held Saturday, July 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET
