Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant hilariously responds to Bradley Beal's Suns departure.
Kevin Durant Can’t Stop Laughing at Bradley Beal’s Exit Fron Suns originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
15-time All-Star Kevin Durant's impending departure from the Phoenix Suns loomed large to begin the 2025 NBA offseason, but his saga came to a relatively quick close compared to that of his then-teammate, Bradley Beal.
Durant was officially dealt to the Houston Rockets as the headliner of the NBA's first-ever 7-team trade on July 6, and Beal left for the Los Angeles Clippers after agreeing to a contract buyout with the Suns on Wednesday.
Beal's departure marked the second notable waive-and-stretch agreement of the offseason after the Milwaukee Bucks let go of Damian Lillard on July 7, and the Suns agreed to pay the scoring guard $19.4 million annually for five years.
The 3-time All-Star would then share an Instagram post in the immediate aftermath of his loud exit, and Durant could not hold back his laughter upon viewing it.
In the last of four photos included in the post on Thursday morning, Beal is seen throwing up a peace sign, an obvious nod at the close of his tenure with the Suns.
In the comments, Durant responded with a single laughing emoji, and other players such as the Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young, Miami Heat's Bam Adebayo and Philadelphia 76ers' Andre Drummond chimed in with reactions of their own.
Following Beal's post, Suns Uniform Tracker replied to both Beal's statement and Durant's reaction with a simple message on X.
"Good riddance, clowns."
Durant then responded to the repost in a way that only he could, with several more laughing emojis.
At age-37, the unbothered future Hall of Fame inductee and 2-time NBA Finals MVP has developed a reputation for consistently interacting with both fans and haters alike on social media.
Though the Suns' hopeful Big Three pairing of Devin Booker, Beal and Durant did not lead to success, the latter of the trio is certainly not to blame for the outcome of the 2024-25 season, specifically.
In 62 contests with the Suns in the regular season, Durant contributed 26.6 points and 6.0 rebounds while knocking down a blistering 43.0% of his three-point looks and compiling a wildly efficient 64.2% true shooting percentage.
With both Durant and Beal headed to other, more prepared Western Conference squads in the Rockets and Clippers, the pair will each have a good chance at competing for a title in 2025-26.
