Clark is out once again with another injury...
Liberty Coach Sandy Brondello Makes Caitlin Clark Admission After Fever Star's New Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have won three-straight games as the WNBA All-Star break nears, jumping to 12-10 on the 2025 WNBA season.
On Wednesday, the Fever will be playing in the second part of a back-to-back, taking on Sandy Brondello and the defending champion New York Liberty at Barclays Center (Brooklyn).
In the Fever's win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, Clark was forced to leave the game in the final minute due to an injury. The former Iowa guard came up gimpy after a pass, grabbing at her groin area as a timeout was called. This is a separate groin injury from the previous one that kept her out five games earlier this year.
Going into Wednesday, Clark had initially been ruled questionable against the Liberty, but hours before the game, she was downgraded to out. This will mark her 11th game missed this season.
Before the game, Brondello, who also happens to be Clark's All-Star coach, spoke with the media. When asked about Clark's recent injury, she acknowledged that having the All-WNBA point guard on the court would benefit her team.
"Yeah, you never want to see a player get injured," Brondello said. "You know, a player like Caitlin, coming back from a few injuries this year. She's a great player. Would have been good for our craft to see her, but hopefully we get to see her post All-Star. We get to play them again."
Brondello also commented her desire to "get to know" Clark a little bit more during the All-Star Game.

Clark received her second All-Star nod in her two-year WNBA career, earning the most fan votes once again. Initially, she had the Minnesota Lynx's Cheryl Reeve as her All-Star coach, but Clark and Napheesa Collier made a coaching swap during the All-Star draft.
The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will be on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark will also be performing in the 3-point contest the night before.
