Quickly after being cut by the Milwaukee Bucks this summer, veteran point guard Vasilije Micic is heading overseas for his next pro hoops opportunity.

Micic, 31, was acquired by the Bucks as the cost of doing business to get off the contract of little-used former champion shooting guard Pat Connaughton and a pair of future second round draft picks.

The Bucks negotiated a buyout of Micic's expiring $8.1 million contract for 2025-26. Micic gave back $6 million in the deal, and Milwaukee will stretch-and-waive the remaining $2 million owed across the next three seasons.

Per Chema de Lucas, Micic had a post-NBA contract offer rescinded by Turkish EuroLeague champ Fenerbahce.

But he wasn't without work for long.

Dejan Gajic of Basketball Sphere writes that Micic has now agreed to a deal with another major EuroLeague squad, Spanish club Real Madrid. Greek EuroLeague rival Olympiacos had also apparently been in the running for his services, as had Israeli team Hapoel Tel Aviv.

According to Gajic, Micic agreed to a two-season, €8.5 million deal with Real Madrid.

Last season, the 6-foot-5 pro averaged 6.6 points on .348/.360/.829 shooting splits, 3.1 assists, and 2.2 rebounds across 41 games (16 starts) with the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns. He was traded back to the Hornets from Phoenix on draft night in exchange for the rights to No. 29 pick Liam McNeeley, a future 2029 second rounder, and center Mark Williams, before being flipped again to Milwaukee.

Micic has logged just two seasons in the NBA, having suited up for the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2023-24 — i.e. a year before their dominant, title-winning championship season in 2024-25.

Prior to his NBA stint, Micic suited up for clubs in Serbia, Germany, Turkey, and Lithuania. He won a pair of EuroLeague championships with Turkish team Anadolu Efes in 2021 and '22, and was named EuroLeague MVP during that first title run. He was a three-time All-EuroLeague Teamer during his five-year Anadolu Efes tenure.
