Caitlin Clark Sends Fiery Message Directly to WNBA Referee During Fever Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever found themselves above .500 as the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game nears, winning their last two games.
On Tuesday, Clark and the Fever looked to make it three in a row, taking on Tina Charles and the Connecticut Sun at the home of the NBA's Boston Celtics, TD Garden.
With 4:33 remaining in the third quarter, the Sun challenged an out-of-bounds call that was initially ruled Fever ball. However, it appeared Natasha Howard touched it last before it went out of bounds, and the play was overturned, giving Connecticut the ball.
During the play's review, Clark was visibly upset with a WNBA official, having a lengthy conversation with them before raising her voice. She was later held back by an Indiana assistant coach.
However, cameras caught Clark's blunt message toward the official, telling them to "grow up."
“That’s just rude," Clark said. “Grow up! Come here, come here! Unbelievable.”

Fortunately for Clark, she was not called for a technical foul, even though she had been in similar situations before, and play resumed.
Clark has had her fair share of spats with officials in the past. This season, she has accumulated two technical fouls through 13 games. During her rookie season, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star came one technical foul away from a suspension with six, tied for the second-most in the WNBA.
Following the Sun game, the Fever will have less than 24 hours before their next game, facing Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
