Before we turn the calendar over for the upcoming school year, let's take one last victory lap to highlight the South Shore's best athletes from 2024-25.

Our spring All-Scholastics have been unveiled. We took those Players of the Year, along with those from the winter and fall, and have listed them here to crown a Female Athlete of the Year.

To determine a winner, reader votes will make up 20% of the tally and our four staff reporters (Eric McHugh, Jason Snow, Ryan Vermette and Chris McDaniel) will make up the rest of the vote.

Macey Shriner, Plymouth North outdoor track & field

Senior was the Div. 2 state champ in both the 400m (:56.01) and 800m (2:10.88), setting meet records in both events (the 400m record had stood for 42 years). ... Anchored the winning 4x400m relay (4:06.55) at Div. 2 states. ... At the Meet of Champions she finished runner-up in the 800m (2:10.89). ... School record-holder in the 400m, 800m and mile.

Maddy McGillicuddy, North Quincy indoor track & field

Junior, who competes for the Quincy/North Quincy co-op team, finished fourth in the 600m at the New England championships in 1:36.51; that was the best finish of any local athlete there. ... Was was the 600m Div. 2 state champ (1:37.79) and placed ninth at the Meet of Champions (1:37.38). ... Ran on the ninth-place 4x800m relay team at Div. 2 states (10:51.28).

Sophia Lirio, Notre Dame Academy tennis

Freshman went an undefeated 17-0 this spring in first singles. ... Owns a 52-5 record since joining the varsity team in seventh grade. ... Led the Cougars (18-3) to the Division 2 Final Four. ... Said coach Joanne Healey, "Since Sophia joined the team in seventh grade, she has been an important part of the team's success."

Callie Crean, Hingham golf

Sophomore shot an 80 to place ninth among 63 golfers, at the state championship at Sandy Burr Country Club in Wayland. ... Patriot League MVP finished in second place at the South Sectional Qualifier at Maplegate Country Club in Franklin with a score of 77. ... Two-time All-Scholastic has a career record of 23-4 in two seasons ... Said coach Samantha Leary, "Callie Crean is an intense competitor that is respected by all players and coaches alike."

Delaney Moquin, Silver Lake softball

Senior pitcher from Kingston graduates as the Lakers' all-time leader in strikeouts (775) and home runs (25). ... Three-time Patriot League Keenan Division MVP powered Silver Lake to its first-ever Division 2 state championship. ... Had a 0.56 ERA with 297 strikeouts across 150 innings pitched this spring. ... Hit for a .488 average with 10 home runs, 43 RBIs and 18 runs scored. ... Will play at Fairfield University next year. ... Said coach Tony Pina, "Delaney Moquin is a once-in-a-decade talent. She is a warrior and a competitor. One of the best I have ever coached."

Grace Maroney, Hingham lacrosse

Senior midfielder was a USA Lacrosse All-American and All-Academic pick. ... Was an Eastern Mass. Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association First Team selection and repeated as Patriot League Keenan Division MVP. ... Notre Dame-bound star had 93 goals, 23 assists, 116 points and 101 draw controls. ... Finished her career with 259 goals and 296 assists. ... Coach Carla Farkes calls her an "integral part of our team's success."

Senior guard from Westwood led the Catholic Conference with a league-best 23 points per game, plus 7 assists, 6.7 steals and 5.5 rebounds. ... Finished career with 2,236 career points, which is tied for 25th all-time in the state and 12th among girls. ... Led the Cougars (21-2) to the Division 2 Elite Eight. ... Will continue her career at Bentley University next year. ... Also played volleyball and lacrosse.

Maddie Oliver, Norwell basketball

Senior forward is a three-time South Shore League Sullivan Division MVP (she shared this year's honor with teammate Reagan Dowd). ... Averaged 18.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as Norwell (23-2) advanced to its second consecutive Division 3 state final. ... Said coach Matt Marani, "Maddie is the most talented and complete player I have ever coached. She is a great teammate and a great role model to all the younger kids who watch her play."

Tess Barrett, Cohasset soccer

Senior had 29 goals and 27 assists for the Skippers this fall. ... Led Cohasset (15-4-1) to the Division 4 Final Four. ... Named an All-American by the Eastern Mass. Girls Soccer Coaches Association. ... Is committed to play at Boston College. ... Said coach Deb Beal, "Tess is unquestionably the most talented soccer player to navigate through Cohasset High School. Her dedication and commitment have earned her countless awards and honors. She’s an amazing player but an even better human."

Caroline Doherty, Hingham hockey

Senior led Hingham to it's first Division 1 state title since 2011 by becoming the sixth player in state championship history to record a hat trick. ... Finished with 63 points this season, totaling 43 goals and 20 assists. ... Finished career with 234 points and 152 goals. ... Will play at Holy Cross in college.

Shannon Lane, Canton field hockey

A two-year Hockomock League All-Star, Lane went on a tear this season, scoring 51 goals and adding 21 assists for a 72 point season as a sophomore. She reached the 100-career point mark, helping lead her team win the Davenport Division title and make it to the Div. 2 Final Four. Lane recorded a hat trick in a Round of 32 victory over Bishop Stang and recorded 10 total goals in the team's tournament run.

Emma Daley, Weymouth cross country

Senior had the fastest time of any Ledger/Enterprise runner in any division at the state championships, clocking 19:07.22 to place 10th in the Div. 1 race at Fort Devens. ... Was 15th in the Div. 1A sectional race at Northfield Mountain Recreation Center in 19:50.39. ... Finished seventh at the Bay State Conference championships in Wrentham in 18:39.49. ... Also starred in the indoor and outdoor track seasons.

Maddison Reif, Norwell swimming & diving

Junior broke school records in the 6 (343.90) and 11 (571.05) dives this season. ... Took first place at the Division 2 State meet. ... South Shore League diving champion and league All-Star. ... Won the Hilltopper Dive Open Invitational in Fall River for the second year in a row. ... Said coach Julie Fox, "Her humility, positive energy, and superior work ethic set her apart."

Note: For volleyball, Oliver Ames' Addyson Smock will be listed in the Enterprise's Athlete of the Year poll.
