Wolves Close In on Jhon Arias as Pereira Eyes Reinforcements
Colombian Star Nears Premier League Move
Wolves are edging closer to the signing of Fluminense winger Jhon Arias in a deal worth £15 million, according to the Daily Mail. The Colombian international has become a standout figure in Brazilian football and now appears set to make the leap to the Premier League.
“Wolves are close to agreement on a £15million deal for Fluminense winger Jhon Arias,” the Daily Mail report states. The 27-year-old is being lined up as a key attacking reinforcement for Vitor Pereira’s side ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Arias has had a hugely impressive spell in Brazil, producing 47 goals and numerous assists across 229 appearances since arriving from Santa Fe in 2021. His influence extended beyond domestic competitions, with six appearances at the Club World Cup helping Fluminense reach the semi-finals before falling to Chelsea.
It was during that tournament that Arias was recognised by one of Chelsea’s brightest stars. “I asked Jhon Arias for his shirt because I know he was one of the best players in the Club World Cup,” said Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

Proven Performer on Club and International Stage
Arias is no stranger to high-level football. Having made his debut for Colombia in 2022, he has already racked up 31 caps and scored three goals. His blend of energy, control and directness has made him a mainstay in the national setup and a central figure at Fluminense.
Thirteen assists in his most recent season underline his creative prowess, while his ability to operate from both flanks offers Vitor Pereira greater tactical flexibility.
This move, if finalised, continues Wolves’ trend of investing in players who can make an immediate impact but still offer long-term value. Arias, at 27, is in his prime, and bringing in a player with his pedigree signals clear ambition from the Molineux club.
Pereira’s Transfer Focus Sharpens
While Wolves are prepared to invest in attacking quality, they have also made their stance clear regarding other assets. Midfielder Andre, another former Fluminense man, is attracting interest from Juventus following a strong debut season in England.
However, the message from Molineux is unequivocal: Andre is not for sale. The 23-year-old made 36 appearances in his first campaign and has quickly become integral to Pereira’s midfield.
The club’s refusal to entertain bids highlights their desire to retain the spine of the team while building around it with additions like Arias.

Squad Strategy Prioritises Balance and Growth
For Wolves, the prospective addition of Arias shows a commitment to enhancing squad depth and quality without sacrificing cohesion. The Colombian brings experience, creativity and a proven record of performing on international stages.
With the Premier League’s physicality and pace demanding players who can adapt quickly, Arias looks well-equipped to thrive. The backing from figures like Enzo Fernandez only strengthens the view that he is ready for the step up.
Our View – EPL Index Analysis
For Wolves fans, the potential signing of Jhon Arias ticks many of the right boxes. He is experienced, creative, and versatile; the sort of player who can add width, goals and guile. At £15 million, the fee seems smart in today’s market, particularly when compared to Premier League valuations for homegrown talent.
His form at Fluminense and standout performances at the Club World Cup suggest he is not fazed by the big stage, something that should excite Molineux faithful. In an attack that has occasionally lacked unpredictability, Arias could become a valuable weapon.
Supporters will also be pleased with the club’s stance on Andre. In the past, Wolves have sometimes been seen as a stepping stone, but holding onto key players like Andre while adding proven talent such as Arias hints at a club aiming higher.
There is still work to be done, but this signing feels like a step in the right direction. The foundations for a more ambitious Wolves side are slowly being laid.
