Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky faced the Minnesota Lynx on Monday night, looking to secure back-to-back wins over the league’s top team. The Sky had pulled off an 87-81 upset on Saturday, led by Ariel Atkins’ 27 points, three rebounds and one assist.
However, Atkins exited Monday’s game early with a leg injury, leaving the Sky in need of others to step up. Reese, who entered the night with eight consecutive double-doubles, did her part. The 6-foot-3 forward recorded another double-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
Reese also made franchise history, becoming the fifth fastest Sky player to reach 750 career regular season points. The 23-year-old did it in 55 games.

It was a positive night for Reese individually, but for the Sky as a team, it wasn’t. Minnesota outscored Chicago by 15 in the second half as they took this one 91-78. Napheesa Collier led the way for the Lynx, adding 29 points, three rebounds and five assists.
The Sky will regroup and face the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday before heading into the All-Star break. Reese is the only Chicago player who will be in Indianapolis for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game.
She earned her second All-Star selection this season after once again leading the league in rebounds, just as she did during her rookie year. Heading into Monday, she was averaging 12.8 rebounds per game—just below her 13.1 average from 2024.
