The Chicago Sky dropped to 7-14 during the 2025 WNBA season after Monday evening's loss to the 19-4 Minnesota Lynx. This snapped the Sky's two-game winning streak and moved them into a tie for 10th place in the league standings with the Los Angeles Sparks.
Chicago was not able to overcome a 29-point, 5-assist, 3-rebound performance from MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier. All-Star guard Courtney Williams also chipped in 18 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and four steals for the Lynx in the win.
Second-year forward Angel Reese, who was named to her second WNBA All-Star team last week, led the way for Chicago in the loss. She paced the Sky with 22 points on 9-for-14 shooting and 10 rebounds, as well as three assists and a block.
This was Reese's ninth-straight game with a double-double, and her 15th such performance of the 2025 season. She has also scored 15 or more points in eight consecutive contests.
After the team's 14th loss of the year, the Chicago Sky made an announcement regarding Reese, which is that she was the Player of the Game in Monday's 91-78 defeat at the hands of the Lynx.
"a menace on both sides of the court đŸ‘‘," the Sky wrote. "that’s NINE consecutive double-doubles for A5."
