It's been a big offseason for Josh Giddey, with the Australian in the midst of negotiating his next NBA deal, but he has already taken care of business in the footwear department.

According to Sole Retreiver, the Australian has become the latest NBA player to sign with Puma, joining the likes of LaMelo Ball and Tyrese Haliburton in joining the brand.

Giddey, who was previously a Nike athlete, was seen wearing Puma at the opening of his CourtSide facility last week, and the new deal has now been made official.

Josh Giddey is officially a Puma athlete, making the jump from the swoosh as he prepares for his fifth season in the NBA.

Following the 22-year-old's January Instagram story in which he said he was selling his extensive Kobe collection, he was photographed during the off-season wearing a number of different brands, alluding to the fact that he was a sneaker free agent.

That free agency has now been resolved, with Puma snapping up the Chicago Bulls star to a multi-year deal.

Puma have made waves in recent years in the basketball landscape - their signature sneaker with Tyrese Haliburton was debuted by the Indiana star during this year's NBA Finals, and the brand also has signature lines with WNBA star Breanna Stewart, as well as the third pick in the 2023 draft, Scoot Henderson.

Their star signing was a fellow NBL alumni in LaMelo Ball, who joined the brand in 2020 and his now up to his fifth signature shoe.

Giddey joins Dyson Daniels and Josh Green as Australians to jump ship from Nike in recent years, with his Boomers teammates signing with Adidas and Skechers, respectively.

With a new sneaker sponsor sorted, his focus will now return to his current free agency, where he is reportedly a ways away from reaching a new deal with the Bulls.
