Ex-Milwaukee Buck reacts to the Cole Anthony signing

Brandon Jennings put out a tweet in support of Anthony on July 13

The Milwaukee Bucks made a new addition to the team early this week, bringing in point guard Cole Anthony after he was bought out by the Memphis Grizzlies.

Anthony was sent to Memphis from the Orlando Magic as part of the deal that sent Desmond Bane to Orlando. Now, Anthony will join the Bucks as they look to beef up their backcourt.

A former Bucks point guard also chimed in on the signing. Brandon Jennings, who played for Milwaukee from 2009-2013, and again in 2017-18, welcomed Anthony to Milwaukee with a message on X

“Welcome Cole Anthony to the 414,” Jennings said on X. “Let’s get ittttttttt.”

Anthony was selected 14th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Magic, where he spent the first five seasons of his NBA career. He averaged 12.5 points and 3.8 assists per game during his time with Orlando.

The Bucks have already waived Damian Lillard, and released Vasilije Micic, so the team’s backcourt depth is currently very shallow. Anthony isn’t Damian Lillard, but he should still help remedy at least some of that this season.
