Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga is thin on options in restricted free agency.

The Golden State Warriors' offseason has been underwhelming. They have yet to make a free agency move.
With Stephen Curry's illustrious career winding down, the franchise is aiming to maximize the remaining time and looking to build a title-contending squad.
Having Jimmy Butler as his co-star and Draymond Green as a crucial player in the lineup, the Warriors have a good start. There haven't been any moves to create a roster around the aging star trio, though.
The wait has come down to two things: Kuminga's restricted free agency and Al Horford's offseason decision.
Horford is deciding between a few clubs and retirement, which makes sense for the long-time veteran and NBA champion.
Kuminga, however, is a 22-year-old forward with star potential. It's become increasingly clear that he won't be able to achieve that potential with Golden State and is best suited to move to a place where he can grow as a player with a higher usage rate.
The restricted free agent market has been bleak, though, and Kuminga's best option might be to re-sign with the Warriors, as other opportunities won't pay what the G League Ignite product is worth.
One Jonathan Kuminga suitor is no longer in the race
The Miami Heat were a potential suitor of Kuminga, as they could benefit from a young player capable of blossoming into a star. The problem? They don't have salary cap space to acquire Kuminga.
Hoops Wire's Sam Amico shut the door entirely, as the Heat won't be able to pursue Kuminga any longer.
"The Miami Heat were also loosely linked to Kuminga early in the offseason, but those talks never gained traction, sources said. The recent addition of Norman Powell and Miami’s hard cap position have taken them out of the equation altogether," Amico wrote.
Evidently, any team that *can* pay Kuminga -- and there aren't many -- isn't guaranteed to sign him, should he agree to a deal. The Warriors are able to match any offer sheet the young forward signs.
However, that might not be important, as the likely scenario is that Kuminga returns to the Bay Area, even if it is for a short stint before landing with a new team down the road.
Everything remains on the table, though. Whether it be a return, Kuminga trying to sign elsewhere, or even the Warriors striking a deal on a sign-and-trade to offload his services.
