Last week, the Los Angeles Clippers were named a potential landing spot for LeBron James.

It came as a surprise as James hadn't actually requested a trade and the Clippers hadn't shown any interest in the 21-time All-Star.

Now one of those things has changed.

It was recently reported that four teams have reached out to the Lakers about trading for James.

According to NBA insider Brandon Robinson, the Clippers are one of those teams.

The other three teams are the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Of the four teams on the list, the Clippers are the one that makes the least sense for a potential trade involving the NBA's all-time leading scorer.

The Cavs give LeBron the easiest path back to the NBA Finals as the top of the Eastern Conference has been softened up by major injuries. Sending him back to Cleveland would also take him out of the Lakers' way in the West.

The Warriors are stocked up with picks they can send to the Lakers in a trade and might even be able to work out a deal with Jonathan Kuminga to offer him to L.A.

Dallas also has some draft picks available, including one of the Lakers' future firsts they could send back, and some young pieces they could include in a deal.

The Clippers don't really have draft capital or young pieces that would appeal to the Lakers. Sending LeBron across town also isn't likely to be something they would too keen to do.

It's obvious the Clippers are still thinking big after their move for John Collins, but it's hard to envision a scenario where the Lakers send LeBron their way.
