The Phoenix Suns provided an injury update on one of their second-round picks on Sunday.
Suns Provide Injury Update on Second-Round Pick During Summer League originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Phoenix Suns began their NBA Summer League games on Friday night as they faced off against the Washington Wizards.
Phoenix was able to pick up a victory in that matchup as they defeated Washington 103-84 behind 19 points from Koby Brea and 14 points and five rebounds from Khaman Maluach.
On Sunday, the Suns continued their Summer League as they squared off against the Atlanta Hawks, though both Maluach and Brea did not play in their 98-80 loss.
While Maluach and Brea sat out of Sunday’s game, the Suns have also held out one of their other picks in the 2025 NBA Draft in Rasheer Fleming.
The Suns announced ahead of the start of Summer League that Fleming has been dealing with right knee soreness which has caused him to miss the first two games thus far.
After the game on Sunday, Phoenix’s Summer League coach DeMarre Carroll provided an injury update for Fleming.
“Doing well... he's moving in the right direction... I'm going to get with medical and performance when we get back,” Carroll said about Fleming’s injury.

This is great news for Fleming as it appears as though the 31st overall pick is improving, though Carroll nor the Suns have announced how long Fleming will be out, which could end up being the entire Summer League.
Of course, it would be a major blow if Fleming is sat out throughout the Summer League but it is important for the Suns to make sure that he is fully healthy before making his NBA debut.
Fleming has a high upside entering the NBA after a successful three seasons at Saint Joseph’s and it is clear that the Suns were high on him as they moved up in the second round to select him.
Fleming’s next opportunity to make his NBA Summer League debut will be on Monday night when Phoenix faces off against the Sacramento Kings at 10:00 p.m. EST on ESPNU.
