McCaffery's message was short and sweet.
Caitlin Clark's Boyfriend Grabs Attention After Two-Word Message to Indiana Fever Star originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Caitlin Clark turned in an impressive double-double on Sunday as she helped lead the Indiana Fever to a dominant 102-83 home win against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.
Clark won the highly anticipated battle against Bueckers by dropping 14 points, three rebounds, 13 assists, five steals, a block and two triples in 25 minutes of action. Bueckers’ team-high 21 points were impressive, but it was far from enough to help Dallas avoid a shellacking at the hands of a determined Fever side.
Among the hordes of supporters who rallied behind Clark on Sunday was her boyfriend, Connor McCaffrey, whom she first met while they were both in college at Iowa University several years ago. Clark and McCaffery made their relationship public in August 2023 after Clark posted a photo of them together on social media.
They appear to be going as strong as ever these days, and Clark’s emotional message for McCaffery on Sunday is a testament to this notion. The Fever star took to Instagram to share a heartfelt birthday post for her man.
“happy happy happy birthday con🥳 you make everyday better and I couldn’t be more grateful. may this be the best year yet , i love you 🖤🖤” she wrote.
McCaffery, who is currently employed as an assistant coach for Butler University, kept his response short and sweet, replying with a brief two-word message.
“Love u ❤️” he posted.
McCaffery’s message drew all sorts of reactions from the fans on social media. As of writing, it already has 397 likes and a string of comments.
“the comment I was looking for,” a reaction read.
“we were at today’s game and wanted to shout your bday out on the Jumbotron or make a poster!” a supporter wrote.
“ur kinda famous now huh? Lol,” another said.
“where the I,” asked a user.
“love you? Really? Nah..” commented another.
“Take care of the 🐐” demanded a fan.
Clark’s rise to fame has been unprecedented, and the 23-year-old has had to navigate a challenging path on her way to the top. As she expressed in her post, she’s very grateful that McCaffery has been by her side all the way.
