When Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic teamed up in Dallas, it felt like basketball magic waiting to happen until that shocking trade tore the dynamic duo apart. But just because they’re wearing different jerseys now doesn’t mean they’ve stopped being, well, Luka and Kyrie.

The bond’s still there, and fans got a sweet reminder of that recently. While Irving was busy doing his thing on a livestream, an unexpected call from Doncic popped up, and let’s just say it brought back all sorts of warm, fuzzy memories for Mavericks fans who still daydream about what could’ve been.

So there’s Irving, just chilling and chatting with everyone on his livestream, when out of nowhere Luka calls him up. First thing Doncic does? He cracks up and calls Irving a “streamer.” The latter fires right back, playfully telling him not to stay up too late watching his streams. To which the Slovenian replies saying, “It’s 4am here.”

The interaction drew a lot of reactions from fans who commented on the bond of Irving and Doncic.

One fan said, "Luka still misses Dallas confirmed."

Another fan added, "This what Dallas was talkin about LUKA."

"It’s egregious that this duo was broken up"- commented a fan still not over the trade.

"Bro just get them back together"- urged a fan.

Another fan added, "kyrie is smart for doing irl stream while recovering from injury."

Another heart broken fan added, "love this connection. just breaks my heart Nico gotta ruin everything."

When the Lakers pulled off that massive Luka Doncic trade on Feb. 1, a lot of people saw the writing on the wall: the LeBron James era was starting to fade.

The fact that Anthony Davis was part of the deal and LeBron and Rich Paul didn’t even get a heads-up spoke volumes.

Since then, the signs have kept piling up. The Lakers started catering to Doncic's needs, even landing a true center right after the trade, something James and AD had asked for ages ago. And now, with no extension offer and Doncic in the spotlight, James' future feels uncertain.
