Bucks expected to bring back fan-favorite forward next season

Milwaukee should be excited for next year.

The Milwaukee Bucks could soon add a fan favorite back to the roster.

Over the past decade and change, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the face of the franchise. Since arriving in 2013, Antetokounmpo has led the Bucks to one of the best stretches in franchise history and delivered an NBA championship in 2021.

While many players have come and gone from that championship roster, Antetokounmpo still remains. Of course, he wasn’t the only Antetokounmpo on the roster.

The Bucks’ superstar forward is certainly the best player in his family but far from the only NBA talent. His brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, was a beloved member of the Bucks in his five-year stint in Milwaukee.

However, the Bucks didn’t bring him back after the 2024 season, ending a half-decade duo of Antetokounmpos on the roster. That is expected to change next season as long as the two-time MVP is still around.

According to a recent report from Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, the Bucks are expected to bring back Thanasis Antetokounmpo next season. While the Bucks are still searching for some depth to build around their core, it appears like a safe bet that Milwaukee will have two Antetokounmpos on the roster again.

Although Thanasis Antetokounmpo hasn’t necessarily been the greatest player throughout his career, his energy and relationship with Giannis Antetokounmpo are incredibly important. While Milwaukee works on bringing the team some more help on the court, adding a brother back into the mix could be just as helpful as any other free agent addition moving forward.
