Aliyah Boston just had to shout her out.
Aliyah Boston Had Two Words for Sophie Cunningham on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Sophie Cunningham was one of the standout performers for the Indiana Fever in Friday’s 99-82 win over the Atlanta Dream. The Fever were in dire need of a victory after being blown out by the Golden State Valkyries at home on Wednesday, 80-61, and Friday’s lopsided win against Atlanta was precisely what the doctor ordered.
Cunningham had arguably her best game since joining the Fever as an offseason recruit, finishing with a season-high 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting. The veteran guard also registered 10 rebounds, an assist, a block and four triples in 30 minutes off the bench.
Aliyah Boston, who herself turned in an eye-catching performance in Friday’s win, was one of the first teammates to congratulate Cunningham via social media. Boston had just two words after Cunningham’s eye-opening performance.
“Double doubleeee,” she wrote, sharing the Fever’s victory post that featured Cunningham as the cover photo.

It wasn’t just Cunningham who turned heads in this one, though. Boston went off against the Dream for 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting and a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe. She also collected five rebounds, a career-high eight assists, a steal and one triple before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.
Cunningham, Boston and the rest of the Fever will need to keep their foot on the gas in their next game as they host Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings in a much-anticipated matchup in Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sunday.
