Giannis Antetokounmpo hypes up a former teammate.
Giannis Antetokounmpo's New Post Has Bucks Fans Begging for Offseason Move originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
They say you’re only as good as your last game, and if there’s one thing NBA fans are famous for, it’s having the memory span of a goldfish when it comes to what a player did before last night’s box score. But just because the crowd moves on fast doesn’t mean everyone does.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, for one, has receipts. When a post on X came around throwing shade at his former teammate Jrue Holiday, the Greek Freak wasted no time jumping in to remind everyone exactly what Holiday brings to the table.
The video that kicked all this off? It came straight from the Washington Wizards. They posted a clip of Tre Johnson pulling off a slick little trick move before casually knocking down a basket.
A fan replied to the same saying, “I’ve never seen someone do this before wtf.” Antetokounmpo was quick to remind the fan that this has indeed been done before. He said, “Jrue holiday did it many times.”

For Bucks fans, Antetokounmpo’s post gave them a sliver of hope as they piled on the questions for the Greek Freak in the comments.
One fan said, “Is jrue coming back giannis?”
Another fan made a bold statement saying, “Jrue Holiday is the most important player Giannis has ever played with.”
“Aw man I didn’t want to be sad. @trailblazers buy out Jrue please”- commented a fan.
“Bring him home Giannis” urged a fan.
A fan commented saying, “You ever feel bad about backdooring him?”
Another fan hyped up Giannis for defending his teammate saying, “Let these dudes know man.”
Unfortunately for Bucks fans hoping for a reunion, that might not happen anytime soon. Holiday has two seasons left on his contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, followed by a $37.2 million player option for the 2027-28 season.
