Detroit weather today: The second game of the series against the Mariners entered a rain delay as storms rolled through.
Storm clouds will just not leave the Detroit Tigers alone.
Game 2 of the Tigers' series against the Seattle Mariners at Comerica Park on Saturday, July 12 has been hit with a rain delay, a very popular trend for the Tigers this summer.
The Tigers announced the rain delay on social media at 12:30, 40 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. Looking at the radar, it seems like officials decided to push back the start time to avoid a line of storms expected to go through the area around 2 p.m.
The Tigers and Mariners were able to avoid some storms that looked possible on Friday, but the Weather Gods didn't wait long to strike back, forcing a delay the next day.
After losing a rare Tarik Skubal start on Friday, the Tigers will have newly-named All-Star Casey Mize on the mound trying to snap a brief two-game losing streak.
The Mariners, meanwhile, have right-handed pitcher George Kerby on the mound for the second game of the series.
Both teams will probably be glad that the game was delayed before the start to not mess with the starting pitchers' rhythm.
