Stephanie White makes her thoughts clear.
Fever Coach Stephanie White's Immediate Message to Team After Big Win Against Dream originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Indiana Fever got back to winning ways on Friday night following their 80-61 defeat at the hands of the Golden State Valkyries on Wednesday. The Fever responded by bringing their A-game against the Atlanta Dream, who proved to be no match for an Indiana side determined to protect its home court.
In the end, the Fever flexed their collective muscle against the Dream to secure a dominant 99-82 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
It was a nice bounce-back victory for the Fever after Wednesday’s demolition job, and this was the exact message head coach Stephanie White had for her team in her postgame speech.
"Every time they made a run, we answered," White said. "We stepped up to the challenge. Our defense, we were in there. We self-corrected when we needed to. We communicated on the floor. Multiple levels of effort. We were connected on both ends of the floor. We moved the ball offensively. It was just really, really, really good stuff.”
"I'm proud of you all. Bounce back. That's a big bounce back. That's a good team, man. That's a big bounce back. So proud."

It was Aliyah Boston who led the charge for the Fever in this one with 19 points, six rebounds and a career-high eight assists. Kelsey Mitchell (25 points, three assists) and Sophie Cunningham (16 points, 10 rebounds) also chipped in, while Caitlin Clark registered 12 points and nine assists in her second game back from injury.
As White said in her statement, the Fever did a commendable job of holding off Atlanta’s challenge, which in large part came behind Jordin Canada’s career-high 30-point eruption.
The Fever improved to 10-10 after Friday’s victory and will now be looking to make it two straight wins on Sunday when they host Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings in Indianapolis.
