The Phoenix Suns are reportedly open to trading three key role players as they continue to make changes during the offseason.
Suns Open to Trading Three Role Players Amid Offseason Changes: Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Many people around the NBA expected the Phoenix Suns to make major changes to their roster this offseason after they failed to reach the playoffs last season.
That is exactly what the Suns have done thus far as they have made it clear that they are trying to retool their roster around Devin Booker.
Phoenix began the offseason by trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the draft rights to Khaman Maluach and five second-round picks.
They then acquired Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets during the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft and selected Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea in the second round.
With these moves, the Suns have retooled their roster but more moves are expected to be made, especially with reports that they are closing in on buying out Bradley Beal after failing to find a trade suitor for him.
While Beal has been the headline surrounding the Suns over the last week, they are also reportedly open to moving on from three of their key role players from last season this summer.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Suns have also engaged teams regarding trading Nick Richards, Royce O’Neal and Grayson Allen in addition to a potential buyout of Beal.

This is not a major surprise as O’Neal and Allen were subjects of trade rumors entering the offseason and with the additions of Williams and Maluach to their frontcourt, Richards may be on his way out of Phoenix as well.
For Allen and O’Neal, both players are great scorers but are primarily known for their defense, which many contenders around the NBA are searching for this offseason.
There are also many teams looking to upgrade their frontcourt and Richards would be a solid addition for a contender due to his inside scoring and rebounding skills.
Because of this, the Suns may be in line to make more moves this offseason as they try to turn their franchise around after another disappointing season.
