Caitlin Clark has missed 10 of 18 games that the Indiana Fever has played so far this year, which has contributed significantly to the team's 9-9 record as the midpoint of the campaign approaches.

As such, Fever fans have been on something of a frustrating roller coaster ride in Clark's second season. Indiana started the year among the favorites to win the WNBA title. Clark then suffered a quad injury and everything slowed down. She returned after missing five games with a monster performance against the defending champion New York Liberty and appeared to be steering the team back on track.

Shortly after, however, Clark entered a shooting slump. She connected on just 1-of-23 attempts from behind the 3-point line in the final three contests she played before the Fever discovered a groin strain via an MRI.

The star point guard has missed the team's last five contests, though she is on course to return to action on Wednesday, July 9, against the Golden State Valkyries at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

"Her return comes with five games remaining until the All-Star break, with that game to be played in Indianapolis with Clark serving as a team captain," Kendra Andrews of ESPN reported July 8. "She and Napheesa Collier, the other captain, will make their team selections on Tuesday night."

Despite Clark's two protracted absences from action and the team's related struggles, Fever fans were out in force on Wednesday for a meet-and-greet with players Lexie Hull and Aari McDonald in an awesome display of loyalty.

"The IT team," Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files captioned a time-lapsed video of the monstrous line to speak with the two Indiana players. "Wow. Hundreds in 90-degree heat."

"We see you 👀 🔥," the Fever posted to its official X account along with the original video. "The line at Chicken Salad Chick in Fishers tonight for our meet-and-greet with Lexie Hull and Aari McDonald is unbelievable."
