A contender in the Western Conference has emerged as a potential landing spot for Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal.
West Contender Linked to Suns' Bradley Beal Amid Buyout Talks originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
After being eliminated in the second round of the playoffs for the second consecutive season, the Denver Nuggets entered the offseason knowing that they needed to make some changes to their roster to be a contender in the Western Conference next season.
That is exactly what the Nuggets have done thus far as they began their summer by trading Michael Porter Jr. and a 2032 first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Cameron Johnson.
With the extra cap space from the trade, Denver then signed Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway Jr. in free agency to upgrade their second unit, which was a problem for them last season.
They also pulled off a trade with the Sacramento Kings that saw them swap Dario Saric for Jonas Valanciunas, though Valanciunas is reportedly considering leaving the NBA and heading overseas to sign with a Greek team.
While the Nuggets have made multiple moves thus far to upgrade their roster around their core of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, they have recently been linked to a star player who could hit free agency.
According to KEN 5’s Jeff Garcia, the Nuggets have been a rumored landing spot for Bradley Beal if he ends up being bought out by the Phoenix Suns this offseason.

Of course, the Suns have failed to find a trade suitor for Beal and it appears as though the two sides are nearing a split after Beal’s struggles the last few seasons.
For the Nuggets, adding Beal would be an interesting move as he would likely come off the bench with Christian Braun entering next season as the starting shooting guard.
Despite this, Beal would be a solid addition to the Nuggets’ bench due to his scoring abilities and could have a bounce back season similar to Russell Westbrook last season in Denver.
While that could be the case, Beal would likely elect to sign with a team where he could be a starter next season, which could put the Nuggets out of the running for him if he ends up becoming a free agent.
