Inter Milan are eyeing up a deal for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah after agreeing a deal to sell Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are determined to sign a defender before the summer transfer window.
Furthermore, the Corriere dello Sport report, the Nerazzurri could even sign two.
The sale of Nicola Zalewski to Atalanta means that Carlos Augusto is currently key to the depth at wingback, while Alessandro Bastoni is without a clear backup in the squad.
Therefore, Inter will likely want to bolster their defensive ranks so that Augusto can play at wingback.
Then, Inter could reportedly sell Benjamin Pavard before the transfer window closes. And in that case, the Nerazzurri would also sign a defender for the right side of the back three.

One defender who has been on Inter Milan’s radar for a long time is Trevoh Chalobah.
The Chelsea defender has reportedly been a target for the Nerazzurri for several years.
And the Corriere dello Sport report that Inter have never really stopped tracking the Englishman.
The Blues may be reluctant to part with Chalobah. After all, he was in their starting eleven for their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
However, considering the size of Chelsea’s squad, Inter would still believe they can make a deal.
