Draymond Green Sounds Off on NBA CBA After Free Agency

The Warriors star does not like the current CBA.

Free agency used to be a roaring time. A time of madness and excitement. It does not feel that way in the 2025 NBA offseason, does it?

Many have argued the NBA's current CBA has been the biggest contributor to this problem. The players who fall into the league's middle class are suddenly facing a much more uphill battle to getting paid.

The NBA will certainly not find Draymond Green as a fan of the CBA. The Golden State Warriors star teed up a fiery rant on social media about it on Monday.

Green posted the following message on his Threads account. Yes, people do use that app.

"I’m sitting in my mancave having a conversation with my wife. Baffled at the fact that NBA free agency is over. Quite frankly it never really started. The level of anticipation leading up to July 1st were as exciting as the fireworks on the 4th. It was the excitement of the NBA Finals yet only a week after watching a team spray champagne and ride on floats.

One can only point to the “New CBA” and the 2nd apron(hard cap) for absolutely putting an end to Free Agency as we once knew it.

Sadly, I sit here and watch so many players overplay the market and not understand what they are up against with the new rules. Which leads me to trying to understand the unstaggering percentage of guys that has no idea of THE BUSINESS they are apart of. And I as a “VET” in this league watch players mismanage their careers and before they know it, look back like DAMN, where to next?"

Believe it or not, there was actually more to that than just the above. Green even jokingly started a campaign for his next potential career move.

"I should’ve been the Players Association president. ... I could’ve helped a lot," Green wrote.

To a large capacity, it is difficult to disagree with a lot of what the Warriors star is saying. Perhaps the NBAPA will want Green at the next negotiating table when the time comes for a new CBA.
