On Tuesday, ESPN carried live coverage of the WNBA All‑Star Draft where the two team captains, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, alternated selections to fill out their rosters for the All‑Star Game on July 19.

The draft kicked off promptly at 7 p.m. ET, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated mid‑season showcases in women’s professional basketball.

With Clark's first pick, she tapped fellow Fever teammate Aliyah Boston, who earned her third straight All‑Star nod.

Turning her sights outward on veteran talent, Clark used her second selection to secure New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu, adding dynamic playmaking and championship experience to Team Clark.

In the process, she revived fans’ beloved nickname for the Clark-Ionescu duo: "Caitbrina."

"CAITBRINA I NEVER DOUBTED YOUUU," said one fan

"ANYWAYS WE GOT CAITBRINA BROOOOOO 😭," another user commented.

Ionescu, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft, has rapidly established herself as one of the league’s premier two‑way talents.

Now in her sixth season with the Liberty, Ionescu has earned four All-Star nods and three All-WNBA second team honors and was the Skills Challenge champion in 2022, the 3-Point Shootout champion in 2023 and WNBA champion last season.

She also became the first player in league history to record a 30-point triple-double, putting up 31 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists on July 6, 2022.

The 2025 AT&T WNBA All‑Star Game will be staged at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Fever, on Saturday, July 19.

The weekend festivities span three days, featuring the WNBA STARRY 3‑Point Contest and the Kia WNBA Skills Challenge on Friday, July 18, before the main event.
