NFL teams need talented wideouts who can catch the ball all over the field. Which current duo is the best in the league? Let's take a look.
NFL front offices and coaching staffs know it is no longer enough to give quarterbacks one great wide receiver. They want a pair of targets who will wreak havoc on secondaries, creating a threat on every pass play to make defensive strategies challenged beyond reason. Which current wide receiver combos are the best? The NFL season is rapidly approaching, so the time is ripe to check out the best wideout combinations in the league.
Davante Adams and Puka Nacua
Nacua is an absolute gem. A stunner after being a fifth-round pick years ago out of BYU. Brilliant scouting by the Rams, who now replace Cooper Kupp with the great Adams. He may be getting older but no sign of slowing down. The bigger issue could be Matthew Stafford's back.
Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins
Joe Burrow has to be thrilled his top two talented wideouts have new contracts and will be craving passes from the quarterback.
Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison
Jefferson is a historically great wideout. Once Addison figures out how to stay out of trouble and on the field, J.J. McCarthy or whomever takes for Minnesota should thrive.
A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith
Jalen Hurts can take his pick of plenty of receivers, whether Smith and Brown, or Saquon Barkley out of the backfield, or tight ends. Smith and Barkley are quite the pair for Philly.
Cooper Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njiba
Smith-Njigba made it clear he was growing into a huge role for Seattle. Then Sam Darnold gets Kupp, who played college ball at Eastern Washington, the Seahawks have a dynamic duo at wideout.
Keenan Allen and Ladd McConkey
Everyone makes mistakes. The Chargers never should have let Allen go to the Bears and the veteran wideout can forget his one season in the Windy City. Bringing him back to pair with McConkey is brilliant.
CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens
Everyone knows what Lamb can do. He is one of the best wideouts in the NFL. Will the move to Dallas shake up and wake up Pickens, who had all sorts of issues in Pittsburgh.
Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel
This tandem is dependent on the Commanders finding a way to make peace with McLaurin on a contract standoff. They should do what they can because McLaurin and Samuel would create all sorts of problems for opposing defenses.
Mike Evans and Chris Godwin
Evans is a Hall of Famer and Godwin is as dependable as they come. Baker Mayfield didn't find a home with the Buccaneers because of his arm. He found one because he has a pair of the best receivers in the game in addition to his quarterback talents.
Nico Collins and Christian Kirk
The Texans' wideouts went through injury after injury last year. Collins is an All-Pro if he can stay on the field and Kirk should be a sweet complement for C.J. Stroud to look for as a target.
Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce
They may be under the radar, Pittman and Pierce, but that is more because of the quarterback situation in Indianapolis than their abilties.
Rome Odunze and DJ Moore
New coach Ben Johnson has to figure a way to improve Caleb Williams, who should be getting the ball to each Moore and Odunze with great regularity. Moore is the goods. Is Odunze?
Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams
St. Brown is one of the best receivers in the game and can -- and will catch passes all over the field. That sets up Williams and his speed as an elite deep threat.
