It was the ninth spinning back elbow KO in UFC history.
Carlos Prates made the first round end with a buzzer rather than a thud at UFC 319.
In the final seconds of the opening frame, "The Nightmare" landed a spinning back elbow to the head of veteran Geoff Neal for the wildest finish of the night. Neal was barely responsive on the floor as Prates began celebrating.
It was the ninth spinning back elbow KO in UFC history, and Prates' UFC-best fifth KO since the start of 2024.

The win gives Prates a big bounce back after a loss to Ian Machado Garry in April, which ended an 11-fight win streak.
Prates was feeling good enough that he asked UFC CEO Dana White, from the Octagon, for both a $50,000 bonus and a spot in the upcoming UFC card in Rio de Janeiro in October. The Brazilian got both, which is not how White usually conducts business.
We'll see whom Prates gets in Rio, but he's once again on track for a big opponent in a career that has more than delivered since he joined the promotion in 2024. His record now sits at 22-7 (5-1 in the UFC), while Neal took his third loss in four fights since 2023.
