WNBA Reacts to Paige Bueckers' Appearance for Wings-Fever Game

The WNBA just had to comment.

WNBA Reacts to Paige Bueckers' Appearance for Wings-Fever Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The Dallas Wings will need a big-time performance from No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers on Tuesday night as they battle a Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever side at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Wings are in the midst of a five-game losing streak, and taking down the Fever on their own home court would be a great way for Dallas to make a statement while getting back in the win column.

Paige Bueckers Arrives in Style

Bueckers arrived at the arena a couple of hours before the big game. The WNBA could not help but react to the 23-year-old’s outfit as she came into Gainbridge Fieldhouse with an eye-catching ensemble.

“Outfit on point 😶‍🌫️ Paige Bueckers of the @DallasWings is ready to take on the Indiana Fever!” the WNBA posted on X.

Bueckers wore a crisp, oversized white button-up shirt for Tuesday’s contest. She paired it with wide-legged faded tan cargo pants that featured bold white straps and block text detailing. For added functionality and style, the pants also feature large front pockets.

The former UConn star finished off her look with white sneakers and a black tote bag, which complemented her streetwear-inspired vibe.

No Bueckers vs. Clark Rivalry on Tuesday

Bueckers headed into this game with a probable tag because of a back issue. There was some doubt about her status for the matchup, but she was ultimately cleared to play after taking part in the team’s morning shootaround.

The same cannot be said for her league rival, Caitlin Clark, who will sit out an 11th consecutive contest due to a lingering groin injury. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year still has no timetable for her return.

Tuesday’s matchup will be the last meeting between the Wings and the Fever in the regular season, which means that fans will likely need to wait until 2026 before witnessing the next chapter of the Clark vs. Bueckers rivalry on the court.

Indiana holds the advantage over its foes in their season series, 3-0. Clark and Bueckers, though, have only battled once in the WNBA. This was on July 13 when the Fever secured a 102-83 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

With Clark out of commission, Bueckers will have an opportunity to take center stage. She will need to come up big in this one, too, especially after star guard Arike Ogunbowale was ruled out before tip-off due to a knee issue.

In 25 games played this season, Bueckers has averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.8 steals, while also connecting on 1.2 triples in 34.2 minutes per contest.
