A recent photo featuring Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant and former WNBA star Liz Cambage has set social media ablaze.

The snapshot, first shared on Cambage’s Instagram Story, shows the two basketball stars smiling together. Cambage is posed as if taking a jump shot, dressed in a black crop top and matching shorts, accessorized with a watch, bracelets and a shoulder bag.

Durant, wearing a gray T-shirt with “The Restaurant Chicago” basketball graphic, black jeans, a black cap with a “B” logo and a black wristband, appears relaxed and cheerful.

The post quickly spread to X, where fans had plenty to say.

“KD look happy as hell,” one commented.

“She got my boy KD blushing,” another joked.

 Others teased, “Major W for KD.”

Observers also pointed out that “KD smiling a lil too hard,” while another joked, “I’m proud of you man. Now go start a family my son Kevin Durant.” 

Several also offered simple approval, with one writing, “Yea KD 🔥.”

Kevin Durant’s Private Life Under Spotlight Again

Durant is known for keeping his personal life away from the public eye. His last confirmed relationship was with former WNBA player Monica Wright, to whom he was engaged in 2013. 

The engagement ended in 2014, with Durant later admitting to GQ that he “didn’t know how to love her the right way."

Wright has since married Michael Rogers, while Durant has remained single.

Durant hinted at reasons for his single status, citing traits like overthinking, caring deeply, and valuing “old school romance,” which he believes is rare in today’s dating scene. 

Per Essence, he also noted that he tends to give his all to people, even if it means getting hurt.

Liz Cambage’s Post-Basketball Path

Meanwhile, Cambage has had a high-profile career in women’s basketball. Standing at 6'9", she is one of the most dominant centers in the sport’s history, holding the WNBA single-game scoring record with 53 points (sharing with A'ja Wilson).

She’s played for multiple WNBA teams, including the Tulsa Shock, Dallas Wings, Las Vegas Aces and Los Angeles Sparks. She also won Olympic medals with Australia.

In 2022, she stepped away from the WNBA and later joined teams overseas, including Maccabi Bnot Ashdod in Israel and Sichuan Yuanda in China. 

Off the court, Cambage has built a lucrative career on OnlyFans, reportedly earning $1.5 million annually, a figure surpassing her WNBA salaries. 

Kevin Durant’s Future With the Rockets

While fans were busy dissecting the viral photo, Durant’s professional future remains a major talking point. Entering the final year of his four-year, $194 million contract signed in 2021, he’s set to make $54 million this season. At nearly 37 years old, the two-time NBA champion will soon face free agency.

According to NBC Sports, the Rockets may offer Durant a two-year deal worth about $100 million, below the maximum contract he’s eligible for, to maintain salary flexibility for their young core of Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason. 

Durant is reportedly open to taking less than the max, prioritizing a chance to compete for his third championship over securing the largest possible payday.

Whether the photo hints at anything beyond friendship remains unknown. What is certain is that Durant will continue to face both on-court and off-court attention as he decides his NBA future, and Cambage will keep building her brand far beyond her playing days.

For now, the internet seems to agree on one thing: Kevin Durant hasn’t smiled that wide in a while.
