FC Nantes have officially confirmed the arrival of Nicolas Cozza (26) on loan from VfL Wolfsburg. The left-back will join until the end of the season, and there is no option for the Ligue 1 side to make the deal permanent.
It’s a deal that the player and the club have become intimately familiar with, as it will be Cozza’s third consecutive loan at Les Canaris. The Frenchman joined midway through the 2023/24 season as cover for the departures of Quentin Merlin and Haouen Hadjam. He was then loaned back to Nantes for the entirety of the 2024/25 campaign.
Last season, Cozza made 29 appearances across all competitions for Nantes, as they staved off relegation. The defender also managed to find the back of the net, scoring once during the 3-2 defeat to RC Lens (a match where he also registered his only assist of the season). Nantes will be hoping that a new head coach, in Luís Castro, will bring them higher up the table.
