As the season inches closer to the 2025 MLB All-Star game, insiders have gotten information on some big names in the league that could be getting moved before the trade deadline at the end of July.
Despite getting voted to his first All-Star game of his career, Chicago White Sox pitcher Shane Smith could be on the move, according to MLB insider Ken Rosenthal.
When asked about what All-Stars could be getting moved before the deadline, Rosenthal explained that Smith is a trade candidate in his breakout season with the White Sox.

Baseball fans might not be familiar with the name, but Shane Smith was a Rule 5 Draft pick last December after the Milwaukee Brewers never implemented the right-hander into their 40-man roster in 2024.
Due to the Brewers never giving him a chance despite posting a 3.05 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in the minor leagues last season, Smith was eligible to be picked up by the Chicago White Sox.
He's become the first Rule 5 Draft pick to make an All-Star game roster since 2006.
In Smith's first year in the big leagues, he's been one of the shining lights on the White Sox as they continue to struggle in the American League.
Through 17 starts this season, Smith has compiled a 3-7 record, 4.20 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and has struck out 76 batters in 83.2 innings.
As the MLB is just a couple weeks away from the trade deadline, many names have been floated around in rumors. If Shane Smith continues to thrive in his first year in the big leagues, teams could be making calls to Chicago in pursuit of bringing in the 25-year-old stud.
