The Houston Astros handed the New York Yankees another series loss Sunday, closing out with a 7-1 victory in the third game and improving their record to 66-52. This dominating victory is owed to some exceptional performances.
Jose Altuve homered, while Cam Smith's two-run double and Carlos Correa's late homer provided insurance. Mauricio Dubón and Ramón Urías added RBIs.
But most of all, Jason Alexander became the showstopper, allowing one hit across six scoreless innings. Alexander posted three strikeouts as well. After the impressive performance, Alexander was named the Player of the Game by the Astros.
"Dealing all day." Astros wrote in an X message on Sunday.

Jose Altuve Joins Historic MLB List
Altuve, for his part, made history in the game. He became the 25th player to reach 250 home runs and 250 stolen bases, joining José Ramírez as the only other active player to achieve the feat.
Altuve earned more jeers from the Yankees' fans when he stepped up to the plate during the first game.
"We just ride the bus when he shows up and does what he does,” manager Joe Espada told reporters. “He loves playing in this stadium, the environment.
"There’s something about him, when we come here, we all feel it. We are expecting — and it’s not as easy as he makes it look — but we expect him to go out there and step up.”
