Everything you need to know about the 2025 Falmouth Road Race, from start times to parking

The ASICS Falmouth Road Race is back this weekend. Here's what to know.

It's that time of year again.

The summer is almost over, and it is time to hit the road and run.

The 53rd running of the annual ASICS Falmouth Road Race takes place on Sunday.

Last year, there were some great races. In the men's division, John Korir won in 31:15. Athanas Kioko was second in 32:06. Third was Mohamed Reda El Aaraby in 32:06.

Winning for the women was Fentaye Belayneh Azale in 36:10. In second was Melknat Wudu Sharew in 36:11. Third was Emma Bates in 36:17.

Miguel Jimenez Vergara won the men's wheelchair in 26:01, while Hoda Elshorbagy won the women's wheelchair in 29:20.

Here's what to know for the 2025 Falmouth Road Race:

Falmouth Road Race start times

The Wheelchair Division will be the first start of the day at 8:40 a.m., and the Wheelchair Duos start at 8:41 a.m. The Elite Women's start is at 8:50 a.m. The Elite Men begin at 9 a.m., and sub-elite runners start at 9:02 a.m. The General Field starts at 9:04 a.m.

Where to park for the Falmouth Road Race

When 20,000 people descend on the area, traffic and parking will be tough. Avoid parking on private properties or next to an open business, as that would increase chances of being towed.

You may try the Mullen-Hall and Morse Pond schools, Town Hall, the public lot near the library, and the Homeport office complex on Gifford Street. Allow extra time; traffic is very heavy on race weekend. Please note, roads along the race route will be closed at 7 a.m.

There will be no parking on Worcester Court per the town of Falmouth.

Returning this year is a drop-off only busing option at Falmouth High School (874 Gifford Street) from 6 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. Those eligible must RSVP to access this option.

Do not attempt to drive to Woods Hole, race information on the Falmouth Road Race website emphasizes. Access to the start area in Woods Hole will be strictly controlled by public safety and there is no parking available and no boat drop-offs per public safety officials. Only official vehicles will be allowed to drive to Woods Hole.

There is a free bus leaving from Lawrence School (113 Lakeview Ave) beginning at 6 a.m. You must be on site by 7:20 a.m. Anyone arriving to the school after 7:20 a.m. may not be guaranteed a ride to the start.

The Health and Fitness Expo

There are plenty of other things to do for all ages leading up to race day.

Located at the Falmouth High School Field House, 874 Gifford St., the Health and Fitness Expo welcomes 20,000 visitors, including 11,400 race participants, friends, family, and the general public to share in a three-day celebration featuring the latest in running, fitness and uniquely Cape Cod items.

Find official race apparel and the latest athletic shoes at the ASICS booth, get your poster signed by former Olympians and road race legends, attend seminars, experience the ASICS Falmouth Road Race course video, and maybe even get your runner gift bag from one of the elite athletes or local celebrities.

FALMOUTH -- 08/18/24 -- Kenyan runner John Korir comes into the finish line as the winner of the men's division. Thousands of runners participated in the 52nd ASICS Falmouth Road Race Sunday morning. Runners started in Woods Hole and ends in Falmouth Heights. The race included the 49th annual wheelchair division.

The Falmouth Track Festival

Another event before Sunday is the Falmouth Track Festival on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Falmouth High School James Kalperis Track. This event features the Tommy Cochary High School Mile, the Elite Wheelchair Mile, and the Elite Mile.

Opening ceremonies begin at 6 p.m.

There will be local food trucks offering a range of snacks available at the Track Festival.

Savings Bank Life Insurance Family Fun Run

On Saturday, the 23rd annual SBLI Family Fun Run free event will take place at 9 a.m.

Medical tips

On a hot summer day, it is always good to have medical help available on site. There will be medical locations throughout the course. That coverage will be at the start in Woods Hole, at three medical stations along the course, a Mobile Medical Team working in between each course medical station, medical staff at the finish line, and in the Finish Line Medical Tent.

All medical volunteers will be in royal blue T-shirts and will be wearing medical credentials.
