The Phoenix Suns have been linked to a former Rookie of the Year winner in a recent free agency report.
Suns Linked to Former Rookie of the Year in Free Agency: Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It has been a busy offseason thus far for the Phoenix Suns as they have made many major changes to their roster after missing the playoffs last season.
The Suns began their offseason by trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and draft capital.
During the 2025 NBA Draft, Phoenix used the 10th pick to select Khaman Maluach and then made a trade with the Charlotte Hornets to acquire Mark Williams, bolstering their frontcourt.
In the second round of the draft, the Suns selected Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea.
While it has already been a busy summer for Phoenix, they are expected to make more changes to their roster and they have recently been linked to a former Rookie of the Year in free agency.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Suns are expected to show interest in Malcolm Brogdon along with the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers.

Of course, the Suns are in desperate need of a point guard as they lost Tyus Jones in free agency to the Orlando Magic and Brogdon would be a solid replacement for him.
The 32-year-old guard was the Rookie of the Year winner during the 2016-17 season after he was selected 36th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2016 draft.
Brogdon spent his first three seasons in the NBA with the Bucks before they traded him to the Indiana Pacers in 2019.
Over the last two seasons, Brogdon has played in only 63 games due to injuries, including only 24 games last season with the Washington Wizards.
Despite his recent injury history, Brogdon would be a solid addition to the Suns’ bench and could also have a chance to start some games for them next season.
While that may be the case, there is expected to be many teams interested in the 32-year-old guard which could hinder Phoenix’s chances of signing him.
