The Los Angeles Dodgers have received devastating news regarding the $107 million replacement for Michael Conforto.

There have been rumors that the Los Angeles Dodgers could look to replace Michael Conforto at the trade deadline.

Conforto, whom the Dodgers signed in the hope of figuring himself out and becoming an All-Star like he once was, just hasn't put it together. He has a .176 batting average and is slugging just .307. He has a negative WAR, hitting seven home runs and driving in just 21 runs in 77 games.

One name that has been floated as an option for the Dodgers is Bryan Reynolds of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Reynolds would be a great addition to the Dodgers, but according to a recent report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Noah Hiles, Reynolds has a clause in his contract and can deny deals to specific teams.

"A few national reports have stated that Bryan Reynolds is also receiving some trade interest," wrote Hiles. "Moving Reynolds, however, might not be as easy as others. Reynolds, who is under team control through the 2031 season, features a six-team no-trade clause in his contract, meaning he has made it clear he would not approve a deal to certain locations. Those six teams, per sources, are the (New York) Yankees, (New York) Mets, (Toronto) Blue Jays, (Los Angeles) Dodgers, (San Francisco) Giants and (San Diego) Padres."

Clearly, Reynolds wants to stay clear of having to pay massive taxes in these big cities, or is afraid of the bright lights of California, New York, and the whole country of Canada.

It remains uncertain whether he’s changed his mind, given that he's been on one of the worst teams in baseball over the past few years and would have an opportunity to win. However, this is telling, as he has all major market cities with high taxes as teams to which he can void trades.
