Spieth Opens up on Flagg.
Jordan Spieth Reveals His Feelings on Cooper Flagg Being Drafted by Mavericks originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Jordan Spieth is currently recovering from an injury he sustained during the Travelers Championship while awaiting the arrival of his third baby. With July already here, preparations are in full swing in the Spieth household, as the star revealed in the latest episode of "Up & Adams Show".
However, his personal life wasn’t the only topic he discussed. As a Dallas native and major Mavericks fan, he also weighed in on the recent Cooper Flagg trade.
When Kay Adams asked him if he felt Flagg to Dallas or Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets would be more impactful, Spieth answered without hesitation.
"I think it’s pretty predictable to think that Durant to the Rockets is a huge add," he said. "The Mavs have to stay healthy. Cooper’s potential is as high as anybody that we’ve seen in a long time. But Kyrie’s going to be coming back late, AD needs to stay healthy."
"If you get a healthy AD and we stay in it as Kyrie comes around, we’re still looking at a five‑ or six‑seed in the West when he returns. At that point, the Mavs are set up to win now as well," Spieth continued.
"But to answer your question, I think it’s an obvious answer that Durant on the Rockets would be a bigger impact. To have a chance to win now and to look forward to the next 20 years, maybe have our Dirk or our Luka in Cooper Flagg. Everyone's very excited about Cooper here. I hope he feels that."
Jordan Spieth is reportedly dealing with multiple injuries, which led him to withdraw from the Travelers Championship, a first in his PGA Tour career. https://t.co/gglE7Ou5fx

Luka Doncic's trade to the Los Angeles Lakers was widely criticized by fans. The management thus wants to redeem itself with Flagg in the upcoming season.
