Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas seems to become a better passer every single season. In 2025, she may be the best passer in the WNBA.

The statistics suggest that's the case. Despite missing five games, Thomas leads the WNBA with 122 assists so far this season.

The league reminded fans of that fact with a post on social media Monday.

"Alyssa Thomas remains in the top spot with a total of 122 AST!" the post read.

Thomas has 10 more assists than Courtney Williams, Natasha Cloud and Skylar Diggins, all of whom have played at least 18 games. Thomas has appeared in 13 contests this season.

From a per game perspective, Thomas is, by far, the statistical leader in assists. The Mercury guard is averaging 9.4 assists per game this season.

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who has only played in nine games, is the only other WNBA player averaging at least 6.5 assists per contest. Cloud is third in the league with 6.2 assists per game.

Thomas' 9.4 assists per game average is the highest of her career. In the first 11 seasons of her WNBA career with the Connecticut Sun, Thomas averaged 4.6 assists per game.

The past two seasons, Thomas posted 7.9 assists per contest. She also had 6.1 assists per game in 2022. 

Over 11 years with the Sun, Thomas made the WNBA All-Star team five times. Her first nomination came during 2017.

On Sunday, the league announced Thomas will be one of 12 reserves for the 2025 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game. It will be the forward's fourth consecutive All-Star nomination.

The league's All-Star contest will be in Indianapolis on Saturday, July 19. Thomas has three more regular season games to add to her assist totals before then.
