Guardians' stats in 10-game losing streak are even more depressing than you think

It's been brutal in Cleveland.

There's really no way to spin this.

The Cleveland Guardians are in an absolutely awful, terrible, miserable, nothing-good-about-it stretch of baseball.

They've lost 10 games in a row, and it's even worse than you think.

The Athletic's Zack Meisel compiled a bunch of the worst stats from the stretch, and if you're brave, we'll share a few here to capture just how bad things have been.

To start it off: The Guardians have scored 15 runs across these 10 games (with six of them coming in one inning).

In five of the 10 losses, the Guardians have been shut out.

How about this from Meisel?

On Thursday, they allowed one run on three hits in 10 innings against the Chicago Cubs. They lost.

On Friday, they allowed two runs on seven hits against the Detroit Tigers. They lost.

On Saturday, they allowed one run on two hits against the Tigers. They lost.

On Sunday, they allowed one run on one hit through nine innings against the Tigers. They lost.

Oof.

Over the 92 innings of these 10 losses (thanks to a couple extra innings), the Guardians have scored in just eight innings.

Cleveland hasn't had a losing streak this long since 2012, when it was 11 losses in a row. The franchise record is 12 losses in a row (May 1931).

And if we flip over to the overall bad fortune of the stretch: On Sunday, the Guardians hung around. They sent their game with the Tigers to extras tied 1-1.

Then in the top of the 10th, Detroit plated six runs, and that was all she wrote on a 10th consecutive defeat.
