It has been a while since Max Homa last won a PGA Tour event. He will have to wait longer to end his dry spell, as he finished tied for fifth place in the 2025 edition of the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.

Homa tried to take the lead in the final round on Sunday with a birdie attempt on the eighth hole, but the ball simply did not fall, leaving him with a par.

He followed that up with a bogey on the ninth hole before finishing the day with a score of 69. When it was all said and done on the course, the 34-year-old Homa went 16-under for the tournament, tied with five other golfers.

Homa reflected on his tough Sunday with a post on Instagram following the tournament's conclusion.

"Disappointing finish but huge thx to the @johndeereclassic for an amazing week. The fans were unbelievable! I think I lost 15 pounds of water weight so thankful for that as well," Homa wrote.

Homa's wife, Lacey, tried to lift his spirits by leaving a message on the comments section.

"Proud of you! Your Sunday outfit is super cute too! 😍💚," said Lacey, who got married to Homa in 2019.

Homa, whose last PGA Tour win was the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open, can take heart from the fact that his T-5 in the John Deere Classic was his first top-10 finish in 14 months. So far in the 2025 season, he is 9-for-17 with two top 25s.
