Nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook is entering his 18th season. Now 36 years old, the former league MVP is coming off a campaign in which he averaged 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 75 games for the Denver Nuggets.

While these are not the numbers Westbrook was putting up in his prime, when he won two scoring titles and averaged a triple-double four different years, they earned him a seventh-place finish in Sixth Man of the Year voting. He would have likely received more consideration for the award had he not started 36 games for Denver.

Despite a strong 17th NBA season, Westbrook has remained a free agent into August. Reports have linked the former Oklahoma City Thunder star to the New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings, but there has been no agreement.

Westbrook announced this summer via an Instagram post that he intends to play an 18th year in the league. As he awaits clarity on his next team, the NBA's all-time leader in triple-doubles has remained active off the court. This includes hosting a summer basketball camp through his Why Not? Foundation and expanding his clothing brand Honor the Gift.

Russell Westbrook Shares Off-Court News Amid NBA Free Agency

On Wednesday, Westbrook announced some personal news regarding one of his biggest passions. A clothing designer and owner of his own brand, the former UCLA star is known for having style off the court. Sharing an update for his Instagram followers, Westbrook revealed a new collection for his Honor the Gift brand is dropping on Thursday.

"INNER CITY ART COLLECTION," Westbrook began his caption. "Drops tomorrow 9am pst. Campaign Shoot was fun. Check out the vibes."

Westbrook then detailed an especially personal element of this collection, reminiscing about inspiration that dates to his childhood.

"Lying on the floor in your childhood bedroom, holding a pencil, staring at paper and opening your mind to all the possibilities," he wrote. "Before long, your imagination has spilled onto the page. You head to the next room to show off your work with pride."

Russell Westbrook's Clothing Brand Has Deep Personal Meaning

While many NBA players are involved in different business ventures off the court, fashion is a personal passion for Westbrook — especially his LA-based clothing brand. A native of South Los Angeles, Westbrook is outspoken about his inner city roots and integrates that into many of his clothing pieces. This collection is no different.

"Honor the Gift’s Fall 2025 collection celebrates that journey — the ever-evolving inner city art show," he wrote.

Established in 2016, Honor the Gift has a message on the front page of its website that goes deeper into the personal meaning behind Westbrook's clothing brand.

"Created by a kid from the Inner City of Los Angeles," the message reads. "A brand founded on self-belief and dedication to never stop working towards your greatness no matter the hardship. Representing a personal promise to Honor the Gift He has given you."
