Top 2026 recruit Jayla Jordan Jackson will announce her commitment at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 9.

A 6-1 guard from Arlington, Virginia, Jackson plays for the prestigious Sidwell Friends School and Team Durant AAU team. The five-star guard is ranked seventh overall by Rivals and eighth overall by ESPN.

Earlier this year, Jackson announced her six finalists. They are South Carolina, Maryland, Alabama, TCU, Miami, and Ohio State.

In late June, Jackson confirmed that she had taken official visits to Maryland, Ohio State, Miami, and Alabama. It’s unclear if she ever visited South Carolina and TCU.

Jackson is a talented scorer who ESPN compared to Maryland guard Kaylene Smikle. She described herself as a “slasher.”

“I think I can do a lot of things,” Jackson told On3’s Talia Goodman. “I can rebound and I think I can make my teammates great at the same time. I think I’m a really good scorer, and I think I’m a really, really good defender.”

Jackson also talked about what stands out about South Carolina.

“Obviously it’s one of the best schools in the nation,” she said. Coach [Dawn] Staley has an awesome resume. She’s an awesome person. I think our relationship is pretty good. I think I’d develop as a player and as a person tremendously there. I just think that everybody gets better there. I think I’d get better there.”

Jackson will be the second top-ten player in the 2026 class to commit. Top-ranked Saniyah Hall committed to Southern Cal in July. South Carolina does not yet have any commitments for 2026 but is still involved with a number of players.
