Baptiste Sanatmaria (30), who spent the second half of last season on loan at OGC Nice, has left Stade Rennais to join La Liga side Valencia.
Santamaria was out of the picture at Rennes, and so spent the second half of last season on loan at Nice. Overall, it was a successful loan spell for the Frenchman, however, at the end of the campaign, Le Gym opted against making his loan move permanent.
As a result, Santamaria returned to parent club Rennes. However, he did not feature in Habib Beye’s plans and so the Breton club have been looking to offload the midfielder. He has now found a new club. Despite reported interest from Napoli, he has made the move to Spain.
The French midfielder has signed a two-year deal with the La Liga side, putting an end to his stint at Rennes. Santamaria made 127 matches for the Breton club. The fee has not been disclosed.
