Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl said that a transfer of VfB Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade to the German record champions is currently "off the table."
"We've said enough about that. We have stood our ground. We made an effort for the player. Stuttgart did not signal that they wanted to talk," Eberl said.
However, he didn't want to complete rule out a move for 23-year-old Woltemade.
"You can never rule that out," Eberl said.
"There is no stop until September 1 (when the transfer window closes). There's always some kind of movement. We're calm, we have our squad in place and we'll see what happens," he added.
Bayern's attempts to sign Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart have so far failed, as the German Cup winners have turned down two offers, the second in the region of €55 million ($64.11 million), without even starting talks.
Woltemade is said to be ready for a move to Munich despite a Stuttgart contract until 2028, but the club will reportedly only start considering letting him go if an offer of at least €65 million is tabled.
