Of all the storylines to keep an eye on the rest of the way in the NBA, perhaps the most intriguing one is what the future holds for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

In recent years, especially during this past season, the Bucks star had been the subject of trade rumors. He had been linked to numerous teams, such as the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat, but perhaps none of them were as prominent as the New York Knicks.

On Tuesday, a new report surfaced regarding the possibility of Antetokounmpo making his way to New York at some point down the line.

After reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in over two decades last season, the Knicks are looking to remain near the top of the conference and further establish themselves as legitimate title contenders.

So far this offseason, they have signed Guerschon Yabusele and Jordan Clarkson, and they gave Mikal Bridges a four-year, $150 million contract extension. However, it seems like they might not be completely done yet as a move for Antetokounmpo could still be on the table (h/t James L. Edwards III of The Athletic).

"It is my understanding that Leon Rose and company have been monitoring Giannis Antetokounmpo’s situation in Milwaukee very closely, even before the offseason started. Many around the league believe the Knicks are interested in star hunting, and while that opportunity hasn’t popped up yet, I certainly believe it’s in the cards if the right situation presents itself," Edwards wrote.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Seemingly Pledges Bucks Allegiance

At a recent sports collectibles convention, Antetokounmpo spoke about having to shorten his autograph in order to be able to play in the NBA for many years. After a fan shouted, "All in Milwaukee" following him saying he wants to be in the NBA for 15-20 years, the Greek native acknowledged the shout and sent a four-word message: "All in Milwaukee, baby."

"I want to have a long career. I'm going to play 15-20 years in the NBA. I can't be doing this autograph...All in Milwaukee, baby," Antetokounmpo said.

Despite the trade rumors and the uncertainty regarding his future with the Bucks, it seems that the former NBA Finals MVP wants to remain with the team that drafted him back in 2013 for his entire career. Whether he will or not is a different story, but as it stands, it seems like he is a Bucks lifer regardless of the rumors.
