Rob Pelinka and the Los Angeles Lakers have been active to start off NBA free agency. While they have only made two moves for outside players, they have been connected to quite a few names.

Both Deandre Ayton and Jake LaRavia have joined the team. Another name that the Lakers were connected to was guard Ryan Rollins who played last season with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Rollins would have been a very intriguing pickup for Los Angeles. However, the Lakers were unable to bring him onboard.

According to a report from ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania on Sunday evening, Rollins agree to a three-year, $12 million contract to return to the Bucks.

"Free agent guard Ryan Rollins has agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal to return to the Milwaukee Bucks, with a player option in the third season, agents Mike Silverman and Brandon Grier of Equity Sports tell ESPN," Charania wrote on X.

During the 2024-25 NBA season with Milwaukee, Rollins played in 56 games and made 19 starts. He averaged 6.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.8 steals per game in 14.6 minutes. In addition, he shot 48.7% from the floor and 40.8% from the 3-point line.

Following the miss on Rollins, Los Angeles has still been talked about as a possible landing spot for veteran free agent center Al Horford.

It's likely that the Lakers will remain active in free agency. Pelinka is still looking to add pieces that can help the team compete during the upcoming season.

However, it is clear that Los Angeles is targeting the future. Building around Luka Doncic is the obvious plan. Pursuing a 23-year-old wing like Rollins is proof of that direction.
