The Phoenix Suns will have two representatives for the 2025 WNBA All-Star game in Indiana. The league announced the rest of the reserves for the upcoming event, and six-time All-Star forward Alyssa Thomas was included in the list.
The veteran forward is having one of the best years of her career following her departure from the Connecticut Sun. In Thomas's first year with the Mercury, she's averaging 14.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 9.4 assists in 13 games. The 33-year-old forward ranks first in the league in assists and is also the team's second-best scorer.
This is her sixth time being an All-Star in her career. She'll represent Phoenix together with her co-star, Satou Sabally, who was announced as a starer earlier.
Together, both the Mercury star forwards made history when they each secured All-Star spots.
"This marks the 15th time the Phoenix Mercury has had multiple All-Stars in the same season! Greatness isn’t new in Phoenix," the Mercury posted. "This Is Mercury Basketball."

After the WNBA confirmed that Thomas was named an All-Star this year, the Mercury had the ultimate gesture for the star duo. The organization had custom jackets and bouquets for Thomas and Sabally.

Even after the Mercury lost Diana Taurasi, who retired after the 2024 season, and traded away Brittney Griner, the new stars have played exceptionally well. Sabally and Thomas have led the Mercury to a 12-6 record, which is good for second place in the Western Conference.
Trading for Thomas was one of the best roster moves by the Mercury during the offseason. Despite the massive change, they remain competitive.
