The Houston Rockets traded for former Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant this offseason, adding a much needed infusion of scoring and star power to coach Ime Udoka's team that has sparked fan reactions across the country.

Durant will turn 37 years old this September and remains one of the most proficient and talented scorers in the National Basketball Association, a key area the Rockets hope to improve in with Durant in the fold next season.

On Sunday, Durant's latest decision on a jersey number was revealed, and it will be instantly familiar to anyone who followed the ex-Texas Longhorns and Golden State Warriors star over the course of his professional career.

"Durant last wore No.7 with the Nets," the Forbes NBA reporter added.

"#7 KD is back," one fan wrote with a fire emoji.

"HOLY W," another fan added.

"And we all know how that went," another fan added. "Hopefully the omens are different this time, for a superstar clearly on the wane."

"We good on that bud," another said

"New team, same sniper," another said. "No. 7 is still locked in," they added with a target and fire emoji combination.

"Still not beating Steph (Curry)," another fan added.

"WE ARE BACK," another said.

The man known as the 'Darantula' and 'Slim Reaper,' along with his former Twitter handle 'EasyMoneySniper' and other nicknames averaged 26.6 points for the Suns last season, along with six rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
