Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink has a close relationship with Golden State Warriors All-Star guard Steph Curry.

Brink’s godparents are Dell Curry and Sonya Curry, the parents of Steph Curry, Seth Curry and Sydel Curry-Lee. But even though Brink has a connection to the Curry family, that doesn’t mean she can do one thing Steph Curry is known for doing.

Steph Curry Reads Hateful Messages During Halftime to Motivate Himself

Phoenix Suns guard Damion Lee, the husband of Sydel Curry-Lee, said that when he played for Golden State (2018-22), Steph Curry would read haters' comments during halftime for motivation.

“I was next to him in the locker room; he would type in his name on Twitter and stop,” Lee said during a recent episode of Brink and Sydel-Lee's podcast “Straight to Cam.” “He looked at it for probably a minute or two and scrolled. Close his phone, put it down and then go crazy in the second half.”

When Brink was asked if she would be willing to do something similar, she claimed, “No, I’m just a sensitive gangster.”

A Look Into Brink's and Curry’s Relationship

The athletes are not biologically related. Still, they are god-siblings because Steph Curry’s parents baptized Brink, and he was baptized by Brink’s parents, Greg Brink and Michelle Bain-Brink, according to a report published by People magazine on May 23, 2024.

The parents got to know each other because the fathers played basketball together at a university in Blacksburg, Virginia, and the mothers were roommates.

Steph Curry played a key role in helping Brink develop her jump shot throughout her college career with the Stanford Cardinal.

“She was trying to develop her jumper, and I spent a little bit of time with her, gave her some pointers,” Steph Curry said before the 2021 NCAA Tournament. “In terms of [her] development, you put in the work and time; every year, you’re going to get better. She’s taken advantage of that.”

During an exclusive interview with People, Brink said the Curry brothers were role models in her life. “They [are] a great shoulder to lean on throughout it all,” Brink said.
